There is a point (we are not there yet) between the summer and the fall, when the light is fading, in those few moments between light and not-light, when the ground is still warm beneath your bare feet, but the cold on the air is a portent of the season to some. You stand on a ledge, an edge between what was and what shall be, the past still fresh and felt beneath your toes but the future announcing itself in the passing of a simple breeze. |

Sometimes, albeit infrequently, I can be profound...poetic, even. Just not that often. It usually required exhaustion or alcohol.
This was exhaustion.
