Boo-ya! Second comment. But I could make it first if I wanted. Anyway,
If the opposite of life is death, then what is the opposite of birth? |

Well, if birth is the opposite of death, then what is the opposite of life? |

Like two mirrors facing each other, this philosophical reflection can go on forever...so why don't I end this now so we can move onto the next blog.
Both life and birth are the opposites of death. Life, as a state of being, is the opposite of the state of death, i.e., he's dead or he's alive. Birth is the opposite of death in the sense of an action. She gave birth, the plague brought upon death. |

My apologies, there's a better way to state my last comment. If you look at death as an event, then the opposite of death is birth. If you look at death as a state of being, then the opposite of death if life. |

For birth to be the opposite of death (the event), birth would have to be a passage from death to life, which it is not. The opposite of death would be (for those who believe in such things) resurrection. The nearest thing I can think of to an opposite of birth would be implantation. |

And I forgot to mention, I agree that the opposite of death (the state of being) is life. |

The opposite of death (as a state) is life.
The opposite of dying (as an act) is creation. (Ceasing to be versus coming to be)
Birth has no direct oposite, except maybe the Windows uninstall function. |

The opposite of death is: everything
death is the state of nothing (or nothingness) so the opposite of death is everything, or maybe 'something' |
